Get to Know Dr. Megan M. Cercek
Dr. Cercek has been helping patients from the greater Reno community smile brighter for nearly a decade now, and she’s just getting started. Her favorite part of dentistry by far is getting to see the amazing transformations people go through in her treatment chair! Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Cercek chose dentistry as her lifelong career because she wanted to have a good work/life balance. She always knew that she wanted to have children, but she ALSO knew that becoming a stay-at-home parent was not for her. Oral healthcare allows her to do something that she truly loves while also leaving plenty of time open for her to spend with family!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Cercek pursued her undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas (Woo Pig Sooie!) before studying for her dental doctorate at the University of Louisville. After graduating in 2013, she bought a dental office here in Reno from a retiring dentist and has been in this wonderful city ever since. Today, she is certified in laser dentistry and a Preferred Invisalign Provider. She is also a current member of the American Dental Association, Nevada Dental Association, Northern Nevada Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Cercek and her husband John Eric met while in dental school. He actually proposed to her with a puppy! Today, they have two young children – a very inquisitive daughter and a rambunctious son. In her spare time away from work, she enjoys camping, dirt-biking, boating with the family, and gardening of all kinds. She also LOVES cooking! She owns at least 25 cookbooks and once went an entire year without making the same meal twice. As for some interesting tidbits about her, she’s weirdly good at playing football and will do almost ANYTHING for a sugar donut from Doughboys.
